Our principal is Jonathan Waldman, a highly
experienced patent attorney focused on intellectual property
and related technology. Jonathan’s scientific training is in
electrical engineering, with a bachelor’s degree from Drexel
University and a master’s degree from the University of California
at Santa Barbara. After
receiving his graduate degree in electrical engineering, Jonathan
enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received
his law degree in 1995. While
in law school, Jonathan worked as a law clerk at Ratner & Prestia,
and continued there as a patent attorney prior to joining Woodcock
Washburn in 1997. Jonathan became a partner at Woodcock
Washburn in 2004.
Jonathan’s clients range from Fortune 500
companies to smaller sized entities and individuals. His clients
are engaged in a wide range of technologies, including computer
hardware and software, telephony, and financial services. In
recent years, Jonathan has handled cases involving software and
programming design and paradigms, computer hardware, gaming platforms
and peripherals, advanced mathematics, encryption, web-based
inventions, user interfaces, communications protocols, software
APIs, and hardware interfaces.
Jonathan oversees the preparation and prosecution
of patent applications in the U.S. and abroad. Additionally,
he performs patent validity and patent infringement studies,
and analyzes clients’ and competitors’ products, services,
and intellectual property portfolios.
